Dublin Aerospace Ltd to rise from ashes of SRT

The Tanaiste (Deputy Prime Minister) and Minister for Enterprise has announced that Dublin Aerospace Ltd will employ 226 people within five years. The company is headed by former Ryanair executive Conor McCarthy who is currently with Air Asia. Airbus Industries parent company EADS and Enterprise Ireland are also investors in the company.
Ms Coughlan said that the company intends to commence a best in class MRO facility having recently acquired assets from SR Technics at Dublin Airport. Dublin Aerospace will occupy two of the former SRT hangars at the airport. "Not only will this announcement lead to the creation of 226 new jobs, but it will also strengthen this highly skilled industry in Ireland". Ms Coughlan would appear to have overlooked the fact that 1135 jobs were lost at SR Technics to create the "226 new jobs" at Dublin Aerospace.
