With the demise of the Salthill Air Show in Galway there were fears that we had seen the last of the RAF's Red Arrows display team for the immediate future. The Volvo Ocean Race stepped in to save the day this year with a noon time display planned for the Galway waterfront as part of the stage end celebrations. The Arrows arrived in Shannon on Friday afternoon last, May 29 in preparation for the Saturday display. Following the show they returned to Shannon for refuelling prior to their departure for the next show in France.
