Citation in emergency landing at Shannon
Citation 750 N970SK made an emergency landing at Shannon this morning. The aircraft which is a regular visitor to the airport was en-route Gander - Paris Le Bourget when hydraulic problems were encountered. The aircraft landed safely in Shannon. After positioning to Taxiway 11 the aircraft was towed to the Signature Flight Support hangar where repairs will be carried out.
Following the aircraft's arrival the runway was closed for a short time to inspect the surface for any hydraulic oil spills. No other flights were affected by the emergency landing.
N970SK is owned by the Oshkosh Corporation of Wisconsin who ironically include airport rescue vehicles in their product portfolio. The picture below shows the aircraft during a fuel stop in Shannon on March 11 2007.
