Flight compensation ends in court
In a case which mirrors a recent case taken in Germany, Ryanair today found themselves in court in Sweden accused of compensation infringements over a cancelled flight. In this case the Swedish Consumer Agency is representing a couple who were booked on a flight from Brussels to Stockholm in May 2006. The flight was cancelled due to heavy fog. Ryanair offered the couple flights two days later and reimbursement for the tickets on the cancelled flight. The couple could not wait two days, decided to make their own way using surface transport and are now looking for €960 compensation for costs incurred as a result.
